Adopt An Author Campaign Raises Funds for The Word On The Street Festival
The Author Adoption program was conceived as a fund raising initiative for The Word On The Street but also as a way of making meaningful connections with the community at large. Now you can become part of the fun and have your name or business associated with the Lethbridge Public Library and The Word On The Street Fstival.
How? Simply make a $100 donation to The Word On The Street to "adopt" one of our many featured authors. You could find yourself adopting an award-winning author or an emerging writer you have yet to discover. If you like, you can specify a genre or author: children's book or cook book, young adult - tell us about your favorite!
For your donation you receive:
- an "adoption" certificate informing you of your adopted author and the time and location of his/her reading;
- a copy of the author's book for you to keep;
- your name as the presenter of your author's reading in the official program guide, both print and online versions;
- at the reading venue, your name will be announced as the authors sponsor when your author is introduced.
Thank you for your support!
A BIG thank you to all those who supported the Friends of the Lethbridge Public Library and The Word On The Street Festival by purchasing tickets to the raffle! The draw was made August 1st and the winner, Cicely Kenwood, along with her group, will enjoy the breathtaking performance of Quidam at the Enmax Centre on August 4th.
The show package, 10 tickets in a private suite for the Aug 4th performance,
was donated by the Lethbridge Lodging Association and VisitLethbridge.com
to the Friends of the Public Library.
Funds raised from the sale of raffle tickets support The Word On The Street Festival
